The Challenge
In an uncertain world of negativity, Lumity is focused on sharing positive news and productive information. How do we provide a safe and rewarding landscape to encourage users to learn and interact with each other?
Project Brief
Research and development took place over a 5 month period using sprint methodology to iterate on each feature of Lumity’s re-launch using the techniques below.
Secondary Research and Interface Design
Lumity sought to bring well-known functionality to it’s product already found in existing apps. The goal was to promote functions to encourage users to share informational or positive posts through the use of a concise library, an engaging streak feature, etc. Research found references of examples and re-imagined them to better suit Lumity’s user base.
The Solution
Relaunching Lumity with it’s new interface involved several key steps: identifying pain points, re-imagining user goals, defining clear objectives, and analyzing existing social medias. The redesign process included collaboration with the founder and developers through wireframing, prototyping, and refining the visual vocabulary to ensure usability and accessibility. Ultimately, Lumity’s goal is to enhance usability, drive engagement, and begin to change the negative feelings we face from social media.
